From Alkmaar the Victorie began and this is still celebrated well every year in beautiful Alkmaar, unlike last year the start and finish are not the same this year, this time we finish at the McDonalds West on the Terborchlaan, this is open 24 hours so you have the opportunity to have a snack or a drink.
After the start we dive into the Beemster after which we descend via Purmerend and the first checkpoint is in Watergang. I put this one here on purpose because it is a tricky junction, and you can cross safely this way. After this we head towards Muiden where the second checkpoint is and you can fill up a water bottle or get something to eat. After this we slowly descend towards 't Gooi and take in a small stretch of "glory gravel" which is doable for any bike and we have a third checkpoint at one of the many pancake restaurants. After this we head towards Loosdrecht and into the province of Utrecht, via Maartensdijk, Den Dolder finally crossing the runway at Soesterberg and via De Bilt, Breukelen, Wilnis, Nieuwveen, Woubrugge, Hoogmade finally having CP6 already (here you can just take a picture of the foot ferry, you don't have to go back and forth).
After this we head towards the tulip fields, during the pre-bike ride it was a big mess of people crossing here who wanted to have their picture taken with a tulip, so pay close attention here.
After this you may have to follow diversions route, as the nature reserve is not accessible after sunset, this is if you follow the Duinweg and would turn left onto the cycle path. Check here whether you comply with the access rules or choose the diversions route. After this you can give your legs a rest on the ferry, in the past you could warm yourself at the chimney but they have been sailing completely electric for several years now.
After the ferry you head towards Castricum and a small piece of Limmen after which you go round the outside towards Heiloo, here you dive into a small piece of forest, because of the overgrowth this can be a dark part, so pay attention and turn on your lights in time.
After the forest a small piece through Alkmaar and round the outside to the finish.
